ROGER HODGSON - OPEN THE DOOR TOUR
CHRONICLES - THE BATACLAN SHOW

Here are Jérôme, Danny and Christophe. This is our report on last night Roger Hodgson show in Paris.

First impression :
AAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGGG

GGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH ! IT WAS SO GREAT !

The crowd was absolutely fabulous, the show was sold out 15 days before without any real promotion in France. So there were 1.500 real fans, perfectly knowing all the songs. Roger sang during 2 hours. In fact, the audience also sang during 2 hours !
He started with "The Meaning". After, he sang so many songs that we cannot remember the order. Here are a non-complete list :

" In Jeopardy", "Death and a Zoo", "School", "Hide in your shell", "Breakfast in America", "Logical song", "Take the long way home", "Rosy had everything planned", "Open the door", "Fool's overture", "Sister Moonshine", "Lord is it mine", "Easy does it", "Love is a thousand times", "Along came Mary", "Give a little bit", "Only because of you", "Say Goodbye", "Dreamer", "It's raining again", "Don't leave me now", "Two of us", "Lonely child"

Other facts :
- Didier Lockwood (violin) and Alan Simon (Harmonica) played on several songs, including "Give a little bit"
- Roger accepted to play "School" because he said he had a band (the audience) with him. So the audience "played" the piano part and all other sound effects. It's hard to imagine the result for those who didn't attend such event !
- Missing songs : "For evey man" (Jérôme is a little bit frustrated), no "Hai Hai" song, "Babaji" and "Even in the quietest moments"
- Roger has deeply revised the lyrics of "Don't leave me now", and made no mistake this time ! And the crowd did perfectly Siebenberg's percussion by clapping in their hands.
- Roger was really stressed on the 3 first songs, almost crying at the end of the very first one. Because of this stress of Roger's, we haven't been able to be at the sound check (sad us), except Fabrice, Benoît and his son Nicolas of course ! (But even them only saw the piano part of it).
- Roger got a first acclamation of more than one minute before being able to start singing. Between songs, there were also long and huge applause.
- Johan and Jérôme waved 2 umbrellas during "It's raining again". Really nice visual effect !
- Another guy waved a big banner with "We love you" written on it !
- Nicolas, from Bruxelles, came on the stage to play single percussion on "Lonely child". Poor boy... :-) 
- Roger's mother and sister where there, Karuna Hodgson and Danijela Simon too. 
- A part of the audience started singing songs before the opening of the curtain (it was of course the "online fan gang").
- Roger received flowers from Peggy and Monique at the end of the show.
- Roger was wearing his long romantic white shirt !
- Good news : the show has been recorded by M6 Music (a french music TV) !
- Sony french big boss was there, good for the future of Roger with Sony Music.
- Fun : "Open the door" is available on vinyl ! A double album !
